Letter of Acceptance

Unfortunately, due to a lectureship in Oman, I wasn't able to attend the IPC meeting which decided the acceptance of the proposed presentations. From the 134 abstracts submitted,

- 55 were accepted as oral presentations
- 5 were accepted as keynote presentations
- 60 were accepted as posters
- 3 will be presented in other settings
- 11 were rejected in total.

The "Letter of Acceptance" was send out on December, 19th, automatically by the abstract grading system - thanks to Arne and his wonderful IT staff!

Conference Gala Dinner

In LOC:s meeting 28th November we discussed a lot about the gala dinner. The gala dinner will take place Friday 27th June at Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa (Kalastajatorpantie 1, 00330 Helsinki). Kalastajatorppa is a well-known and esteemed banqueting place Helsinki. It opened in 1937 and since that many important gatherings have been arranged there, for example a gala reception during CSCE in 1975, and the meeting of Bill Clinton and Boris Yeltsin in 1997.

Kalastajatorppa is situated at seashore and surrounded by beautiful Finnish nature. In the dining room Siirtomaasali, where we will be having our dinner, one whole wall is covered by windows, so we can see the midnight sun while we eat.

Although Kalastajatorppa is surrounded by nature, it is still just about ten minutes travel from downtown. Transport to gala dinner will be arranged, but if anyone likes to come on one's own, Kalastajatorppa can easily be reached by tram 4.
